About the charity:
Urban Wildlife Care cares for over 500 injured and orphaned wild animals a year. It is run by an Authorized Wildlife Custodian who oversees over 40 volunteers. The facility rehabilitates small mammals such as squirrels, raccoons, foxes, bats (a species at risk), skunks, opossums, coyotes, beavers and groundhogs. Wildlife rehabilitation is not funded by the government even though it is under the governing body of the Ministry of Natural Resources, therefore it is solely supported by the public through private donations. The costs as you can imagine are astronomical. The formulas for baby season alone for each species come in from the United States at an average of $225.00 USD for a 20 lb pail. With 50 baby squirrels that is one pail a week just for squirrels! Caging, medical costs, well you can imagine the never endings costs involved. Fundraising is a huge component to raising money and the timing of this one will help greatly with the upcoming baby season that usually starts in March and goes until November!
*Please note that if you do not have a ticket for this event you may be asked to leave the venue as this is a fundraising event specifically for this charity.
